SCRA staff held a fundraising coffee morning to raise money for care experienced children and young people.
The fundraiser took place at our office in Glasgow on Friday morning during Care Experienced Week 2018.
A total of £230 was raised with the money going to Siblings Reunited (STAR) and Glasgow East Women’s Aid.
Jennifer Orren, SCRA’s Participation Officer, said: “Thank you to everyone who baked and contributed to the event. All the money raised is going to two really worthwhile causes.”
Siblings Reunited (STAR) is a charity which provides a therapeutic environment for children and young people who are separated in the care system, through adoption or kinship care, by providing the opportunity for sibling contact. Money raised from the coffee morning will contribute towards festive activities for children and young people.
Glasgow East Women’s Aid provides safe refuge accommodation and therapeutic support services to women, children and young people fleeing domestic abuse in Glasgow. Money raised from the coffee morning will contribute to Christmas trees and presents for women, children and young people in refuge over the festive period.
