A new report has been published by Corporate Parent SCRA today looking at one of our Keeping The Promise improvement projects.

Launched in 2023, Child Friendly Scheduling is a programme of work being undertaken by SCRA to promote children and young people’s voices being included in decisions about their Hearings.

This work links closely to findings in the Hearings for Children report and in Our Hearings, Our Voice 40 Calls to Action.

Pilot projects were carried out in Ayrshire, Fife, Grampian, Moray and Renfrewshire. The pilots focussed on identifying whether small alterations to how Hearings were scheduled could improve children and young people’s knowledge of their participation options, and result in a greater sense of ownership over their Hearings.

The work has now been evaluated by SCRA’s Research Team and they have produced a report for children and young people highlighting the key findings. There is also a more detailed report available on SCRA’s website.
